Audiology Unit

Audiology is a scientific branch that teaches to use the current scientific applications in favor of the patient for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders. Diagnosis and treatments; beginning with the neonatal hearing screening programs to diagnosis loss of hearing losses are in the elderly ages are performed in Audiology Unit. Similarly, diagnosis and treatment of the vertigo and balance problems are performed in the Audiology Department.

Services defined above are presented in Medipol University Hospital Ear Nose Throat Head and Neck Surgery Department’s Audiology Unit.

Diagnosis, and rehabilitation of the patients with problems with hearing and balance are carried out in this unit with the assistance of the most advanced devices such as ABR, video-NG, VEMP, computerized dynamic posture graph. The patients with hearing loss or balance problems apply to this unit following ear nose throat examination. Following necessary tests and procedures and detecting the cause and degree of hearing loss or balance disorders, individually and disease specific treatment and rehabilitation approach is defined. For auditory rehabilitation; digital hearing device, cochlear implant, brain stem implant, middle ear implant, vibro tactile device, FM device and assisting devices are selected and adjusted.
