Medipol University Hospital Intensive Care Units are are multidisciplinary units equipped with advanced technology providing 24 hours non-stop service to high-risk patients whose vital functions severely impaired and requiring intensive care monitorization.
At Medipol University Hospital Intensive Care Units, in order to ensure patient privacy, create a relatively noise-free environment, reduce the lighting of the room to sleep comfortably when needed each patient are hospıtalized at single rooms which are particularly ventilated to prevent transmission of germs (to provide isolation). In intensive care units there is an artificial respiration device called a mechanical ventilator and conveniently located monitors in which vital signs of patients (pulse, blood pressure, body temperature, arterial and central venous pressure, such as intracranial pressure) can be easily monitored in each bedsite. In addition, hemodialysis and hemofiltration (supportive treatment such as dialysis), hemoperfusion, plasma filtration, ECMO, ECCO2 can be applied for 24 hours for intensive care patients requiring emergent renal support treatment .
Intensive care treatment of patients requiring follow-up who have had heart surgery is done in collaboration with Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery Department.
intensive care unit admission is determined by Intensive care doctor, and (if necessary) with the branch doctor treating the patient . Necessary consultations are provided 24 hours a day by the specialist of the related field so that the patient is given a multidisciplinary full-service.
Medipol University Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, gives 24 hours service with a team of experienced and expert physicians and medical equipment. In this unit, there are totally 11 mechanic ventilators (artifical respiration device) one of them HFOV (high frequency ossilator ventilator), ten of them conventional. There are 30 multi-channel monitor, portable x-ray device, portable ultrasound, echocardiography and Doppler device, intensive phototherapy devices used in the treatment of jaundice, 24-hour continuous blood gas ,electrolytes, bilirubin (jaundice) monitoring can be done in 24 hours old infants with capillary blood gas device. The next follow-up of infants discharged from the unit is continued at Risky Babies Polyclinic.
